Authentic Perspectives

Documentaries don’t have to be long and boring. In this experience, students will choose a topic, craft a structure, film and gather the elements, and assemble a short-form documentary from their own unique perspective.

Art From Identity

Art is a way to express what can’t be put so easily into words. This experience, students will be led through an art project (photography, painting, crafting, etc.) but will take that form and apply it to their own sense of self and identity.

How does film help our mental wellness? When we watch a film or listen to a song or experience any creative outlet, we become emotionally connected to the characters as we join them upon their journey. By breaking down our experiences and moments into connected forms of experience, then we can inspire others with our journey and hopefully create a more connected community. The puzzle pieces below represent some of the issues that we are facing on a daily basis. As each film is completed it will be posted here along with testimonials and resources to make a change in our lives. Counter Cinema

This multi-week experience helps students create their own representations by breaking down stereotypes and offering different perspectives. A companion piece is documented to craft the aim, the stereotypes being reacted to, and the goals of their project.
