Hyper Active: Navigating Life With ADHD

All his life Cory knew he was different, it just took him a little longer to figure out why. As he faces his recent adult ADHD diagnosis, he embarks on a quest to learn how several friends with disabilities continue to cope and how their journeys might impact his own.

The film features several poignant sequences of introspection, immersive cinematography and editing as well as lively conversations with featured guests including actress Diana Elizabeth Jordan, screenwriter Marc Muszynski, model Natalie Oden and ADHD advocate Kamden Hainsworth.

As Cory is learning how to navigate life with his new diagnosis, you, too can learn how to work around the struggles you may experience living with ADHD. Here are 5 easy tips and tricks that may help you be more successful while living with ADHD:

  1. Declutter your space - a clean environment can help clean up your thoughts. Surround yourself with a space empty of distractions.

  2. Write down ideas as they come to you - if you have a history of forgetfulness, writing down your ideas on paper as they enter your brain may help you remember them and go back to them in the future.

  3. Put on relaxing music - if you find your mind trailing off while studying or working, a calm playlist might help occupy that space in your brain that is filling with lots of thoughts.

  4. Make a to-do list - writing down a checklist of your tasks at hand can help you complete them if you have noticed yourself forgetting what you have to do.

  5. Pace yourself - don’t expect to get everything done quickly and all at once. Allow yourself to focus on one task at a time and take breaks as needed.
